University of Southern Maine-Portland Ballet Company Scholarship


This scholarship is established at the University of Southern Maine to support a dancer at the Portland Ballet Company pursuing a degree in any discipline at the University of Southern Maine.  The goal is to support a talented artist, encouraging them to remain in Maine for college while performing as a dancer.


Matriculated student at USM in any degree program,
Must audition for and be nominated by the Portland Ballet Company (PBC), and
Possess a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
One page student essay briefly describing their academic and artistic goals,
Future promise in the field of dance.

How to Apply

A committee of Theatre Department faculty shall be responsible for selecting a scholarship recipient from those auditioned and nominated by the Artistic Director of Portland Ballet Company (PBC).

How to Renew

May be nominated more than once.
