Southen Maine Writing Project 2021 Invitational Summer and Fall Institutes
If you are eager to write, learn more about teaching writing, and develop your leadership skills, apply to become a Fellow in our 2021 Invitational Summer and Fall Institute through the University of Southern Maine. This 6-credit graduate institute is divided into two 3-credit courses taken in sequence, one in the summer, one in the fall.
Summer Course: All days go from 8:30-3:30 and will be held at Yarmouth High School.
Saturday, June 5, Wednesday - Friday, June 23-25, and Monday & Tuesday, June 28 & 29
Fall Course: Saturdays September 18, October 2 & 23, November 6 at Yarmouth High School.
This Institute will follow all CDC guidance on face coverings and social distancing. It may be offered in hybrid or virtual modalities pending designations by the Maine School Health Advisory System (green, yellow, red).
Tuition for in-state residents based on USM’s tuition scale. Priority deadline for applications is Friday, April 2. Space is limited to the first 20 qualified applicants. Others will be placed on the waitlist.
The National Writing Project (nwp.org) is the premier effort to improve writing and writing instruction in America. There are nearly 200 sites around the country, including the Southern Maine Writing Project at the University of Southern Maine. Our members include K - university educators across the disciplines, literacy specialists, administrators, and librarians. Our common threads are teacher leadership, writing, and the importance of writing experience and quality instruction in all content areas.
