Seven Canadian Artists

Seven Canadian Artists

Event Date and Time:
Tuesday, April 8, 2014, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Location:
Auburn Public Library

In collobaration with Senior College, Michael Everett will discuss an art movement that began in our neighbor to the North.  The story of Canada's Group of Seven provides an excellent starting point for art appreciation.  The Group was a regional Toronto art movement of the early twentieth-century that created a Canadian national style of landscape painting, a style that continues to influence how Canadians and the world imagine their country.

Everett is a lifelong student of art and Canadian history and is an exhibiting member of the Western Maine Art Group.  His oil paintings may be seen at the Maine Street Gallery in Norway.
