Building Community-Campus Partnerships to Address Climate Change & Water Quality Conference

September 22, 2017
10:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Manchester Community College
Free

This one-day, free, event will highlight the Community Colleges for Environmental Stewardship program.  We will share best practices, curriculum models, and educational materials for integrating environmental stewardship and 21st century skill development for students into course design. We will also challenge faculty to think of emerging trends in higher education around solving complex issues and there will be an action-oriented track for students.

The day kicks off with a keynote presentation from Dr. Cortese.  Dr. Cortese has been actively engaged in public policy and educational transformation on climate change and other large system sustainability challenges for 40 years. He founded Second Nature, the Boston-based advocacy organization committed to promoting sustainability through higher education and organized the American College & University Presidents' Climate Commitment (ACUPCC).

This event will also include interactive sessions on environmental service-learning, collaborating across disciplines, building community inside and outside the classroom and the role of higher education in climate change & water quality issues.

Great event for faculty from all disciplines who are passionate about climate change ,sustainability staff and coordinators, graduate students, environmental studies students, student leaders and community environmental non-profits!
