SMART for Schools

RTI Academy 2011

Summer Academy 2011: Enhancing Academics (A) and Behavior (B)

The 2011 Maine RTI Academy is designed to prepare Maine educators to develop and implement Response to Intervention for both Academics (A) and Behavior (B; PBIS). The opening keynote will focus on how RTI provides a multi-tier system for supporting ALL students' Academics (A) and Behavior (B). Each day of the Academy will have a focused theme and include a keynote and breakout sessions about how to implement RTI for both Academics (A) and Behavior (B).

Academy presenters include national, regional, and state-level experts on RTI for Academics (A) and Behavior (B), including many Maine teachers and school administrators who have been using RTI Academics (A) and Behavior (B) to improve outcomes for ALL students.

We encourage all Maine school districts to send a team of 3-5 teachers and administrators to the Academy to help them prepare for implementation of Maine laws related to RTI, including Title 20A and Chapter 101.

Connecting: the RTI in Maine Ning is the official location for presenters and participants to discuss hot topics in RTI, post and view documents and presentation materials, and receive the latest information on the RTI Summer Academy. Join today - it's free.
