Things to Do Every Year

  • Fill out the FAFSA Renewal application as early as possible at the beginning of the new year, starting October 1st. USM's Title IV Institution Code is (009762). Student Financial Services recommends that you file the FAFSA in early October to ensure priority consideration for any need-based financial aid. It is not necessary to have completed federal taxes to fill out the FAFSA. Estimate the annual amount of wages and update your FAFSA once your federal taxes are complete. Updating your FAFSA does not change your original filing date.

Apply for USM Scholarships

  • Be sure to apply for scholarships each year. Most university scholarship applications are due by February 1 for the following school year. To see what types of scholarships are available at USM, visit our scholarships site.
