Robert Noyce Teaching Scholarships and Stipends
Through the generous support of the National Science Foundation's Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship program, from 2008 to 2014 USM was able to provide substantial financial assistance to 54 USM students enrolled in our mathematics and science teacher preparation programs. In exchange for generous awards of up to $15,000, recipients agreed to teach math or science in a high needs school district upon completion of their teacher preparation program. We are proud of these graduates and of the great work they are doing to support learning in Maine schools and beyond.
Our NSF grant has ended, and due to the very competitive nature of the funds source, we were unable to secure another award. If we are able in the future to successfully apply for funds, they will be announced through the USM Scholarship portal link to http://usm.maine.edu/scholarships
Thank you for your interest in the Noyce scholarship program for math and science teachers.
