Dr. Anderson is the former founding dean of the College of Science, Technology, and Health at the University of Southern Maine. He also served as associate dean of the School of Applied Science, Engineering, and Technology and as chair of the Department of Technology.
Professor Anderson has been an active participant in several professional associations on the local and national level. He currently serves as chair of the Board of Accreditation and has been an accreditation chair and visiting team member for the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering. He also currently holds the position of interim chair of the board for the Maine Mathematics and Science Alliance.
He has made presentations at numerous workshops, seminars, and professional conferences throughout the country. His research and scholarly interests have focused on computer-aided design. His recent interests have been in the area of assessing academic programs in higher education.
Dr. Anderson attended Iowa State University on a leadership development fellowship and was the first recipient of the G. Harold Silvius Doctoral Fellowship Award, established to recognize excellence and academic accomplishment in graduate education. He also received the National Association of Industrial Technology Region I Outstanding Professor of Industrial Technology Award and a Laureate Citation from Epsilon Pi Tau, the international honorary for professions in technology.
