Each spring, the faculty of Technology selects one student to be selected as the Department of Technology – Outstanding Student of the Year. The student is chosen by faculty in a nomination and voting process. The criteria for the award include very high level of academic achievement, service to other students, and ethics of character beyond the classroom.
This year’s Department of Technology – Outstanding Student of the Year is Katrina “Trina” Ung.
Trina is a graduating senior who will be earning an BS in Cybersecurity degree. Trina started with the department as a transfer student from Mount Wachusett Community College. She writes “A lot of the entry-level classes were daunting and it was unnerving to be in classes with folks of varying skillsets! But everyone in the Technology Department is very understanding and want you to succeed.”
One of her faculty instructors writes “Trina is consistently near the top of the class each course, and brings a positive attitude about teach topic and each course.”
Trina now works at WEX Inc. as an Information Security Analyst. She ends her note saying “Now that school is over I hope to pursue other hobbies in piano and skateboarding. I will maybe finish some RPG games I started two years ago, too.”
