Promise Peer Mentors play a pivotal role in helping to acclimate incoming first-year Promise Scholars to the USM community. Promise Peers serve as a mentor to students to aid them in their academic and personal success at the University. They connect with students through 1:1 meetings, as well as, community service projects and program events.

What's your major?

I am a senior at USM and I am studying Mathematics with a double minor in Honors, and Leadership and Organization Studies.

Telford, England

Favorite class your've taken at USM so far?

Since being at USM my favourite class so far has to be my honors core class as it gave me a chance to explore Portland, and the campuses, as well as volunteer at certain events.

What other activities or student clubs are you involved in?

Outside of mathematics and classes I am part of the women's ice hockey team.

What advice do you have for first year students?

My advice to any first year student is to attend any events hosted by the school as they are fun and give a real togetherness atmosphere. My personal favourite is Pingo!
