Promise Peer Mentors play a pivotal role in helping to acclimate incoming first-year Promise Scholars to the USM community. Promise Peers serve as a mentor to students to aid them in their academic and personal success at the University. They connect with students through 1:1 meetings, as well as, community service projects and program events.

What's your major and/or minors?

My major is Elementary Education.

What's your hometown?

Lovell, Maine.

What has been your favorite college class you've taken? Why is it your favorite?

My favorite college class that I have taken is my Introduction to Education class. This was my favorite because I got to learn the most affecting ways of teaching and I got to explore what kind of teacher I want to be like.

What other activities or student clubs are you involved in?

I am on the USM Softball team!

What advice do you have for first year students?

My advice for first year students is that this is the time in your life where you need to reach your goals to get to where you want. But it is also important to take care of yourself and enjoy the journey.
