Profile

Dr. Gemma Wenner has over 19-years of tourism and hospitality industry experience, she has owned and operated two cafes franchise operations.  Dr. Wenner is the founder of the First Coconut Festival in Guyana, South American and the co-founder of The Messila Valley Onion Festival, in Mesilla, New Mexico.  Dr. Wenner has a Bachelors in business from University of Maryland, a Masters in Tourism Administration and a Graduate Certificate in Destination Management from the George Washington University, her Doctorate is in Management from University of Maryland, University College. 

She is originally from the Caribbean region, speaks French, Spanish, English, loves to travel; her travels have taken her to 60 different countries; which have enhanced her understanding of cultural, heritage, as well as the many economic dynamics that tourism and hospitality stimulates within many different sectors.
