Kristin Fuhrmann-Simmons MSW
- MSW in Social Work, University of Maryland
Kristin Fuhrmann-Simmons loves a good narrative. From the time she was a little girl who listened to her dad's creative (and sometimes wild) tales, Kristin cultivated a love for innovation and storytelling as a means to connect. Equipped with a BA from the U. of New Hampshire, and a Master’s Degree from the University of Maryland, Kristin is known for her down-to-earth teaching style and her passion for marketing and media training. Her background as a Writer, Marketer, and Mental Health Therapist creates the perfect mix of creativity, great listening skills, and compassion while working with her students at the U. of Southern Maine and with her clients.
Kristin worked as a journalist with the Dow Jones/Seacoast Media Group from 2008-2012, covering the culinary scene of New England. She now owns her own consulting company and works with destinations like the Belize Tourism Board, the Belize Hotel Association, The Québec Government, Walt Disney World Radio, The New Hampshire Liquor Commission, Maine's Midcoast and Islands, The Maine's Women's Network, & Tourisme Charlevoix on original content development for print, blogs, video, and social media, as well as ongoing training for Destination Management Organizations on social media best-practices and digital marketing. Her print work can be seen in publications like AAA Horizons, Food Network Magazine, Celebrate New Hampshire, The Latin Kitchen, Matador Network, and The New Worlder.
