April 20th is the 2nd anniversary of BP's Deepwater Horizon Oil Crisis. To commemmorate the event, we will show a short clip of the Environmental Health & Toxicology Club's Gulf of Mexico research project in collaboration with the USM's Wise Laboratory of Environmental and Genetic Toxicology and Ocean Alliance. We will also show a short clip of the Environmental Health & Toxicology Club's ballooning and Vieques, PR projects. Then Dr. Iain Kerr of Ocean Alliance will introduce the film and we will show the iMAX film, "Whales: An Unforgettable Journey as narrated by Patrick Stewart. Dr. Iain Kerr is CEO and Vice President of Ocean Alliance and is an integral part to the Gulf of Mexico research project and was intimately involved with the filming of "Whales: An Unforgettable Journey". Following the film, we will do a short Q&A and possibly show the making of the film. We hope to have snacks such as popcorn and candy and maybe some soft beverages. So join us in Talbot Lecture Hall in Luther Bonny on April 20th, 2012, at 6pm. Attendance and snacks are free, and there will be opportunities to donate to the work of the club and these projects.
