WASHINGTON, D.C.—U.S. Senator Susan Collins welcomed Bowie Lam of Biddeford High School to Washington, D.C. as Bowie begins the 2014 spring semester in the United States Senate Page Program.
“I am excited to welcome Bowie to our nation’s capital,” said Senator Collins. “Bowie is a highly motivated student with an impressive record of academic achievement and involvement in extracurricular activities. I am pleased that she will have this unique opportunity to become intimately familiar with how Congress operates.”
Bowie was nominated to the Senate Page Program by Senator Collins following a competitive selection process. In addition to her participation in the TRIO Upward Bound Program at the University of Southern Maine, she participates in several extracurricular programs at Biddeford High School, including the Math Team, Band, the International Club, and Interact. Bowie hopes to one day run an organization that serves others.
