Prof. Eve A. Raimon (English and WGS) received a faculty senate research grant to work on her current book project, "Beyond the Black Heritage Trail: Race, Place, and Public Memory in New England." She will spend time traveling to regional memorials with the grant. Currently, she is working on how the 1912 expulsion of a mixed race population on Malaga Island in 1912 is related to the present day phenomenon of legislative apologies for wrongs against African Americans.
