The College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHS) is the public liberal arts college of Maine’s cultural and professional center. Mayor of Portland Michael Brennan delivered a keynote address about his Initiative for a Healthy and Sustainable Food System, which is asking that Portland’s public schools, universities, and hospitals, source up to 50% of their food locally.

The Communication and Media Studies Department presents a showing of work from video production courses.

Advanced Field Video Production students' dramatic scenes feature local actors including USM Theatre students, in such genres as horror, psychological thriller, and a film noir parody/comedy.
