Maine Center for Business and Economic Research

The Maine Center for Business and Economic Research (MCBER) provides strategic research and technical assistance to public and private organizations and firms in Maine. As a federally designated University Center and funded in part by the US Economic Development Administration, MCBER links University expertise with organizations to support economic prosperity for Maine’s residents and businesses.

MCBER maintains a host of analytical suites, including regional models of Maine’s economies developed by Regional Economic Models Incorporated (REMI), that allow modelling of a range of economic issues, including economic impacts, the impacts of policies, as well as population and economic forecasting.

MCBER is the Maine economic forecast manager in participation with the New England Economic Partnership, which meets two times each year to discuss New England’s state economies and topics of regional interest, such as energy, infrastructure, and innovation. Contact us for our most recent forecasts of the Maine economic as well as other related project information.

Learn more about what we do by on our projects and services pages. Follow MCBER on social media through Twitter and our blog that disseminates ongoing research projects and economic information on the state of Maine’s economies.
