This year's Maine Model United Nations Conference (MeMUNC) will address Sudanese leader al Bashir's crimes against humanity. MeMUNC participants are high school and middle school students from Maine and New England. Maine is home to a large and diverse international community, including many Sudanese refugees.  We are proud to announce that former Maine Congressman Tom Andrews will be the keynote speaker at MeMUNC. Mr. Andrews has long been a supporter of the rights of the Sudanese people, and has worked with other noted activists such as author John Prendergast and actor George Clooney. 

We're very excited that Mr. Andrews will be sharing his voice with us at MeMUNC, and we are equally excited to partner further with the Sudanese diaspora right here in Portland as we work to raise awareness of the humanitarian crises in Sudan.
