Fall Husky Ruck
Join USM’s Wellness Committee and MASH (Military-Affiliated Student Hub) October 7th for a 5-mile Husky Ruck. What is a ruck? It has two meanings. A ruck is a backpack or knapsack filled with however much weight you are comfortable with, and it’s the act of strapping on your weighted ruck and walking, hiking, or running. Don’t worry – we will be walking, and bringing a pack is optional! This is a great way to earn the Level 2 Incentive, get some light exercise in the outdoors, and enjoy spending time with colleagues—rain or shine! Friends and family members are welcome to join us. We encourage you to bring water and a light snack.
We will be starting at USM on Saturday, October 7 and we will meet at 9:45am at 39 Exeter street (in the former Maine Law parking lot). Be sure to check in with Lorrie Spaulding at the event to earn the Level 2 Wellness Incentive! We will step off promptly at 10:15am and we’ll walk the Back Cove loop and the route will take about 2 hours including stops, and we’ll return back to USM for a light lunch at a little after noon.
Please note – We are no longer able to accept requests for Level 2 credit after the designated check in time. Thank you for remembering to complete and bring with you the “Risk and Release” form, linked here, or email your completed form to firstname.lastname@example.org.
