Resounding Infinity: An Improvisational Musical Ensemble

Join us on February 20 at the Crewe Center for the Arts’ Arts Lab for an evening of programming associated with the Of Sibyls and Source exhibition.
Resounding Infinity is an improvisational musical ensemble performance and astrology reading. The ensemble will commence on the event of the Neptune-Saturn conjunction at 0 degrees Aries. Featuring Susan Bickford playing chimes, Andrea Goodman as vocalist and astrologer, and Robin Lane on cello.
This event is free and open to the public.
Performer Bios:
Susan Bickford is a Maine artist working with ecosomatics within the tenants of deep ecology utilizing performance, video, textiles and installation. “Invoking the Muses”: nine hand made dresses, “Beloved Surrender” (video), “Nut’s Garment”, “I am the Bridge” and “Resounding Infinity” (improvisational performance ensemble + astrology reading with Andrea Goodman and Robin Lane) are her offerings for this show. Bickford holds a BFA/BID from RISD and an MFA from MECA&D. She has been teaching art at UMA since 2003. Andrea Goodman, priestess, vocalist/composer, sound-healer, mythic astrologer, poet, spiritual teacher and counselor, has been part of a groundswell of innovative women’s creative and spiritual emergence throughout her life. She is an original member of the Meredith Monk Vocal Ensemble for 17 years, co-founder of the Ministry of Maat, and originator of Cosmic Harmony, facilitating others to sing intuitively with healing intention. At Ruby-Throated Spirit in Boothbay, she offers voice lessons, sound-healing, Reiki, and Cosmic Harmony Classes. Professional astrologer since 1985, she gives readings in person or remotely. Robin Lane is a cellist, composer, educator, music producer, and sound engineer living in Portland, Maine. In 2024, Lane graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Southern Maine with a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance with a concentration in composition. Lane performs classical, contemporary, and improvised works for public and private events throughout New England. Lane often engages in place-based and interdisciplinary collaborations and performs frequently in wellness and mindfulness spaces. His original compositions explore the influence of mindful practices and nature on music creation, with the intention to be of service to the well-being of humans.
Also this evening: An Artists’ Roundtable for Of Sibyls and Source: Ranges and Ruptures. The roundtable will immediately follow the performance, starting at 6 pm in the Arts Lab.
