VISITING ARTIST SERIES: Composers in the House! The Finished Works are Presented in Concert
Composer/Pianist Richard Pearson Thomas joins the Osher School of Music for a Voice and Composition Residency and Performance.
This performance is the culmination of a two-day residency with composer and pianist Richard Pearson Thomas. Through intensive master class work with student vocalists and composers, the students create the works they perform in Friday night’s performance. The student composers are students of Alexandra Dietrich, Malinda Haslett, Mary Letellier, Daniel Sonenberg, Hans Spencer, and Scott Wheatley. Composer Richard Pearson Thomas will be at the piano as OSOM singers bring his music to life, followed by premieres of piano/vocal works of the Osher School of Music composition program.
This final performance is on Friday, Feb. 10 at 7:30 p.m. in Corthell Concert Hall on the University of Southern Maine’s Gorham campus.
The Friday night concert tickets are $15 general, $10 seniors, students, USM employees and alumni. The Thursday and Friday master classes are free and open to the public.
