It’s On USM is the University of Southern Maine’s adaptation of the national It’s On Us campaign, which raises awareness about sexual assault on college campuses and empowers individuals to take a stand against it. The campaign encourages students, faculty, and staff to pledge their commitment to creating a culture of respect, consent, and intervention, emphasizing the importance of bystander intervention and collective responsibility in preventing sexual violence. Learn more about the national It’s On Us movement.

Led by dedicated Peer Educators, It’s On USM plays a key role in educating the campus community through programs, outreach, and advocacy efforts. By fostering discussions about consent, healthy relationships, and supporting survivors, they help to create a safer, more inclusive campus environment.

About Our Program

Dedicated to creating a campus where everyone feels respected, supported, and heard. Together, it’s on all of us to foster a campus free from sexual violence at the University of Southern Maine.

It’s On USM is committed to forging a campus environment that champions consent, dismantles the roots of sexual violence, and nurtures a culture where everyone is empowered to foster respect. Through Peer Educator-led education and community engagement, we strive to equip individuals with the tools to actively contribute to a safe and inclusive environment, ensuring that everyone feels valued and protected.
