Political science courses meet a number of important learning outcomes. A number of POS courses also meet the learning outcomes and fulfill the requirements of the core curriculum.
Political science courses that fulfill core curriculum requirements include:
1) Capstone – Permanent capstone courses include the following: POS 445 MeMUNC Conference Planners; POS 446 Global Educators; POS 475/480 Political Science Internship Seminar. Special capstone-designated versions of other courses include the following: POS 335 European Politics (Fall 2014, Fall 2017, Fall 2019); POS 380 Topics “Capstone in the Social Sciences” (Spring 2015); POS 380 Topics “Politics of Climate Change” (Fall 2021); POS 394 A Year in the Life (Spring 2021, Spring 2023, Spring 2024, Spring 2025); POS 399 Topics “1919: A Year in the Life” (Spring 2016, Spring 2017, Spring 2018, Fall 2019); POS 399 Topics “Machiavelli” (Spring 2019); POS 405 The European Union (Spring 2020). These are the only capstone versions of these special capstone-designated courses and other offerings of the same course will not count as capstones.
