A chapter titled The Weaponization of Reporting: Using Nightmares to Sell War and Conflict will be published in The Global Handbook of Conflict and Peace Communication in September 2022 (Edited by Sudeshna Roy and published by Wiley Blackwell). The chapter, co-authored with Tamara Dejanovic-Vukasovich, demonstrates the role of fear appeals in conflict reporting used to establish the pretext for state violence in military conflicts. Journal Articles

Vukasovich, C. & Kostic, M. (Pending). Communicating During COVID-19 and Other Acute-Event Scenarios: A Practical Approach, will appear in the October 2022 issue of the Journal of Business and Technical Communication. The article presents pragmatic theory-grounded recommendations for adapting familiar discourses, semiotics, and mental scripts for more effective organizational communication during acute crises to ease organizational transitions and decrease uncertainty.
