Andrew hails from the UK and has been active in professional theatre and theatre education for forty years plus. Now a full-time resident of Maine he has performed and directed both in the US and Internationally. Some theatre credits include projects with The Royal Shakespeare Company, The National Theatre and The Globe London. He is currently the Artistic & Executive Director of Deertrees Theatre (Maine’s Most Enchanting Playhouse) and he performs two one-man plays depicting the lives of Charles Dickens and Dylan Thomas.
In the recent past he has worked at Portland Stage as an actor, director, production manager, Affiliate Artist and Education Associate; and as an actor with The Public Theatre and on film with The History Channel. Through research and practical application, Andrew ‘guest lectures’ in two areas of theatre: The Craft of The Medieval Players and Direction and Acting for Theatre-in-the-Round. Past affiliation with UK colleges include, The Guildhall, The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and Middlesex University. At USM, Andrew teaches Intro to Theatre/Text Analysis, Scene Study, and Creative Drama.
