Melissa Guillerault is a Policy Associate II and Resource Family Training Specialist. In this role, she is a co-lead, focusing on coordinating, implementing, and facilitating Resource Family Introductory Training. She works collaboratively with community partners such as OCFS, AFFM, RPCT, and A Family for ME to educate and support resource parents in the State of Maine.

Prior to her time at the Catherine Cutler Institute, Melissa began her professional career in Child Welfare in 2004 where she fulfilled a variety of roles during her 17 years as a social worker for the State of Maine.  Her last position was as a Resource Supervisor for District 1 where she gained the utmost respect and compassion for resource families who sacrifice so much to care for and support the most vulnerable children and families in the State of Maine. Melissa is exceptionally thankful for the opportunity to use her Child Welfare knowledge and experience while training and contributing to Maine’s resource family community’s development, support, and growth.

Melissa has a bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Sociology from the University of Southern Maine and is a Licensed Social Worker with the State of Maine.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and 4 children, extended family, and friends; working out; camping; an occasional nap; and drinking coffee.
