Dr. Shvets came to the US in 1990 from Ukraine. She studied at UC Berkeley and received a BA in pure math and economics followed by PhD in applied mathematics. Her research interests include similarity methods for dimensionality reduction; mathematical modeling; algorithmic number theory. In the last few years she’s been keenly interested in using growth mindset and collaborative methods in her teaching.
