Robert Ker

Bob is originally from Winslow, Maine, and learned about the deep relationships that a college can have with its community from growing up near Colby College. He joined the USM Foundation in 2022, bringing with him a writing degree from Emerson College and more than 15 years of experience in narrative-based communications in both newspapers and non-profits, with a specialty in the arts. He currently lives across the Back Cove from USM’s Portland campus with his wife, two kids, a beagle, and a snake. He writes about music online–more hobby than side hustle–and in his free time he enjoys hiking, watching the Criterion channel, and going to Celtics games (both Boston and Maine) when he can.
