Jenna is a Clinical Counselor who brings warmth, curiosity, and a grounded presence to her work with students. She earned her BS in Public Policy from Penn State and her MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from USM. Before joining the university counseling team, Jenna worked in crisis intervention and stabilization.
Her approach to counseling draws from Internal Family Systems (IFS), solutions-focused, attachment-based, trauma-informed, and contemplative frameworks. She also integrates practical skills from CBT and DBT, Nonviolent Communication, and compassion-based practices. Jenna specializes in supporting neurodivergent individuals, adoptees and those with foster care experience, LGBTQ+ students, and people navigating trauma, anxiety, or family stress. Her academic research interests include counselor education and preparation, identity formation, adoptee experiences, child welfare policy, and cultural competency.
Outside of work, Jenna finds joy in being in or on the water—whether swimming, kayaking, or canoeing—as well as hiking, painting, reading, and spending time with her family.
