Richard Owens teaches as an adjunct lecturer in the Writing Program at USM. His research interests include the New American Poetry, the British Poetry Revival, Anglophone balladry, Marxist political geography, and, more recently, white poetic imaginings of North American indigeneity from the nineteenth century to the present. Prior teaching assignments have included instructing writing and literature courses at the State University of New York at Buffalo, Buffalo State College, the University of New England, and Bunker Hill Community College.
