Exhibition: Contemporary Illuminated Manuscripts: the work of Nancy Ruth Leavitt

Since 1985 Nancy Ruth Leavitt has created over 100 unique, contemporary illuminated manuscript books and over 25 edition and collaborative books filled with lettering, poetry, and colorful painting. Her work may be found in public collections around the world.

Screening and Discussion: What is Democracy

USM's Philosophy Department will screen Astra Taylor's film, What is Democracy. The film explores democracy from it's roots in ancient Athens all the way to modern day issues with capitalism, the mounting US refugee crisis, as well as the gap between rich and poor.
