Jenkins is a Professor of Leadership and Organizational Studies at USM, where his work focuses on leadership education, training and development, including program design and evaluation, professional growth of leadership educators, critical thinking, and political leadership.

“It means so much to be recognized by my colleagues and students in an area I’m so passionate about,” said Jenkins.

Founded to connect leadership theory, research, and practice, the Association of Leadership Educators (ALE) provides professional development and networking opportunities for educators in the field. Each year, ALE presents the Peter Northouse Outstanding Teaching Award to honor exemplary teaching and mentorship.

Through USM’s Leadership and Organizational Studies program, students engage in the same leadership principles and practices that earned Jenkins national recognition, connecting classroom learning with real-world leadership development.
