Co-authored Book Wind Energy Landscape by Dr. Firooza Pavri

Congratulations to Dr. Firooza Pavri, Associate Dean of the Muskie School and Professor of Geography, on the publication of her co-authored book Wind Energy Landscape: Principles, Techniques, History. The book was published by Wiley-IEEE Press and offers a comprehensive, interdisciplinary exploration of wind energy from technological, historical, and landscape perspectives.

Wind Energy Landscape synthesizes foundational principles of wind power with practical and historical insights into how wind energy systems have developed globally, how they function, and how they interact with communities and environments. It brings together the science and technology of wind energy with discussions of environmental, social, and policy considerations, providing a holistic framework for understanding one of the fastest-growing renewable energy sectors worldwide. The book is a resource for students, researchers, planners, and policymakers engaged in renewable energy, landscape assessment, and sustainable development.

Dr. Pavri’s work on this volume extends her research agenda at the intersection of environmental geography, sustainability, and landscape change. This is her third co-authored book with colleagues Dr. James Aber and Dr. Susan Aber. Prior to this book, they co-authored a book on wetland environments. This earlier book followed years of research on coastal and inland wetland environments from across the globe.
