The University of Southern Maine and the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences are very proud of History alumna, Marnie Darling Voter Childress, who has tirelessly dedicated her life to teaching and telling the stories of Malaga Island as a descendant of Benjamin Darling. Her former Professor, Libby Bischof, notes that “one of my proudest moments as an educator was attending the Malaga Island Family reunion Marnie organized as part of her independent study project.”  Learn more about Childress and Malaga Island in a recent Portland Press Herald article.
