USM school psychology faculty, Drs. Mark Steege and Jamie Pratt, contributed to the National Association of School Psychologist’s new edition of its foundational publication: Best Practices in School Psychology 7. Their chapter, titled “Best Practices in Using Single Case Research Methods Within a Problem-Solving Framework to Promote Equitable Practices” explores methods for applying single case research methods to ensure that all students receive the individually tailored supports needed to succeed. In addition to reviewing single-case research methods, their chapter examines strategies for analyzing ecological factors that contribute to students’ educational challenges, designing individualized interventions, monitoring students’ response to intervention, and documenting the effectiveness of services.
