Life lessons: Sunil’s experience

Sunil Katuwal’s (he/him) four years at our university were full of learning and life lessons. Resources like our Career & Employment Hub, counseling services, and on-campus jobs as a tutor and a Learning Assistant helped him thrive in a new country. Sunil plans to return home to Nepal and give back to his community by finding ways to expand healthcare in rural areas.

Make an impact: Liliana’s experience

Growing up on the Penobscot and Passamaquoddy Reservations in Maine inspired Liliana Sapiel (she/her) to become a tribal lawyer. One of the reasons she chose the University of Southern Maine is our student counseling services, which help her navigate college life, social issues, and more. A passionate advocate for her community, Liliana also started an Indigenous club on campus as a first-year student.
