Christopher ’04 and Lavinia ’04 Gelineau Memorial Scholarship

Description

The Christopher ’04 and Lavinia ’04 Gelineau Memorial Scholarship was established at the University of Southern Maine in 2022 with gifts received through the University of Southern Maine Foundation.

Eligibility

Enrolled student majoring in information technology, cybersecurity, English or foreign languages.

Preference shall be given to students with:
  • Solid academic achievement overall, and exemplary high quality of performance in the subject area of their major academic field.
  • The recommendation of at least one (1) faculty member who has direct classroom experience and knowledge of the student’s quality of work in their primary academic major.
  • Conscientiousness and a strong motivation to succeed in their field of interest. 
For students meeting the above criteria, additional preference shall be given to students who:
  • Have served in the Maine National Guard
  • Have Maine or Vermont residency
  • Are Immigrants who aspire to US Citizenship, and
  • Have meaningful experience that may be external to the University of Southern Maine

$1,000 or as funds are available
