USM Access Scholarship

The USM Access to Education Scholarship was established at the University of Southern Maine (USM) in 2017 for the purpose of assisting individuals who are not eligible for any type of federal funding, including student loans.

Funds shall be used to provide scholarship aid for deserving students attending USM who are not eligible to receive Federal Financial Aid. The goal of this fund is to encourage the growth of a vibrant and diverse student population at USM.

Preference for these scholarships is given to Maine residents from traditionally underrepresented populations, first-generation college students, students with diverse experiences, and students coming to Maine from an international location who have established Maine residency.
