USM Alumni Association Scholarship

The USM Alumni Association Scholarship was established at the University of Southern Maine in 1996 by the University of Southern Maine Board of Directors. The fund shall be used to provide scholarship assistance to sons, grandsons, daughters and granddaughters or spouses of alumni who graduated from USM or one of its predecessor institutions (Gorham Normal School, Portland Junior College, Gorham State Teachers College, Gorham State College, University of Maine at Portland University of Maine at Portland-Gorham).

Recipients must be sons, grandsons, daughters and granddaughters or spouses of alumni. Recipients will be chosen using USM's Alumni Scholarship Application. Eligible recipients must be students with demonstrated financial need and in good academic standing. Preference will be given to first-year students with a possibility of offering it to transfer students. Selection of the recipients shall be made by the USM's Admission Office, or other successor position with equivalent duties.
