  • Explore urgent national and global issues such as criminal justice reform, economic access, urban violence and policing, and the intersecting histories of oppression and resistance.
  • Study in an interdisciplinary program with course offerings in criminology, economics, social and behavioral science, public health, recreation, anthropology, and more.

Program requirements

Along with studying the theoretical foundations of social justice, you’ll explore patterns of injustice and resistance, and build skills in analytics methods. The program concludes with a capstone and possible internship with a regional organization.

Interdisciplinary experts

Our faculty hold terminal degrees in their fields. They are widely published and frequently present at national and international conferences on topics as diverse as LGBTQ+ issues, family dynamics, reproductive justice, incarceration, and more. They also lend their expertise by serving on boards of local community organizations.
