Launch your jazz performance career with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from the University of Southern Maine (USM). In addition to taking applied jazz lessons, you’ll also get a thorough understanding of this unique American art form and its relationship to contemporary society. You’ll delve into where the heartbeat of jazz comes from by taking music theory, private lessons with faculty, pedagogy courses, and receiving training that helps you understand the roots of music, and in turn, jazz.
