Expected career outcomes
Entry point for meaningful roles
Our graduates are qualified for a range of careers in language-related technologies. You’ll be prepared for direct practice with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities at the local, state, and national level.
French Linguistics
Instruction focuses on the acquisition of proficiency in the French language and its linguistic structure. Students will learn phonetics, syntax, and second language acquisition, with the goal of becoming fluent.
Spanish Linguistics
Instruction focuses on the acquisition of proficiency in the Spanish language and its linguistic structure. Students will learn phonetics, syntax, and second language acquisition, with the goal of becoming fluent.
An immersive experience
Our students learn language through an immersion approach, which means you’ll spend a large amount of time conversing with faculty already fluent in the language. More opportunities for exposure include community events and weekly language tables arranged by department staff.
Nationally distinguished faculty
Take advantage of the liberal arts college atmosphere and extensive interaction with nationally distinguished faculty members, many of whom actively engage students in their grant-funded research.
Scholarship opportunities
Scholarships offer valuable financial aid that doesn’t need to be repaid. You’ll be automatically considered for Merit Scholarships when you apply for admission by the deadline. Additional opportunities are available.
