Welcome to The University of Southern Maine Accreditation page. Every ten years, the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE) assesses member colleges and universities for accreditation. USM’s last review was in 2022 as a member institution within the University of Maine System’s Unified Accreditation. That review was successful in meeting the requirements established by NECHE. Goals and challenges identified from that review were incorporated into the System’s Strategic Plan.
