Academic Advising
The relationship you build with your Professional Academic Advisor begins when you enter USM and continues throughout your USM undergraduate experience. Your Professional Academic Advisor can offer advice and support in many areas. Here is a sample:
- Setting goals and creating an action plan to help achieve those goals
- Creating a four-year academic map (semester-by-semester overview of your degree requirements)
- Planning course schedules each semester
- Resources on campus
- General degree questions
- Options for majors/minors
- Academic strategies (study skills, time management, etc)
- Campus involvement opportunities
