Current Students:
Your faculty and professional advisors will be working with you from the time you first enroll until you graduate. Course selection, although important, is only a small part of your advising experience. An advisor’s primary goal is to assist you to identify and achieve your educational, personal, and career goals.
We will help you to develop as a self-directed learner, explore resources, and understand and follow the advising and registration processes. We’ll help you become an active participant in the advising relationship, be informed as you transition through your major, and understand the relationship between your academic major and career interests.
Advising at USM is very different than the experience you had in high school and can be different from your previous college experience. Advising is a partnership of learning, exploring, and achieving.
