Film Screening: Belfast, Maine
How do we come to know a place?
How are we shaped by its land, economy, politics, and culture?

Join us for a screening of Belfast, Maine (1999), directed by the late acclaimed documentary filmmaker Frederick Wiseman.
Belfast is a meditative series of observations of the mundane, capturing a portrait of the small coastal town in 1996. By following Wiseman and his camera through factories, the woods, the town, and out to sea, we glimpse a community working, relating, and navigating their day-to-day. Wiseman helps us see the rhythms of life and what they can teach us. You can read more about the film in this New York Times review by Stephen Holden.
