Southern Maine Symphony Orchestra with the Portland Youth Symphony Orchestra in Concert
The Southern Maine Symphony Orchestra together with the Portland Youth Symphony Orchestra present their Spring concert at WPAC etc…….
The program will open with highlights from Edvard Grieg’s Incidental music to “Peer Gynt” (known for its famous ‘Morning Mood’ and ‘In the Hall of the Mountain King’ movements). The second half will feature Arcangelo Corelli’s Concerto Grosso Op. 6 #1, Florence Price’s “Dances in the Canebrakes”, Arturo Marquez’s wildly-popular Danzon #2, and an encore by John Williams! Music Director Robert Lehmann will share conducting duties with Graduate Conducting Associate Jeff Mosher.
This live performance takes place at Westbrook Performing Arts Center, 471 Stroudwater Street in Westbrook on Tuesday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 general, $5 students, seniors, USM employees and alumni. The virtual performance will be available for two days.
