4th Annual Maine STEM Film Festival
The Maine STEM Film Challenge Film Festival is a public event that showcases informational STEM films that teams of students in K through College divisions have designed, storyboarded, edited and produced this fall semester. This event is the end of the Maine STEM Film Challenge season, and the culmination of the work that competition teams have done. Attendees will get the opportunity to see films from teams across the state, as well as the film challenge award ceremony.
This event runs from 10:00am until 2:00pm on December 7th, 2024. Teams will get the opportunity to see films from teams across the state, as well as be honored with division awards. The event is in room 165 in the Science Building on the Portland Campus. The address is 70 Falmouth St, Portland, ME 04101. This event is a showcase of all of the film submissions we received for all four of our divisions – K-3, 4-5, 6-8, and 9-12. Please join us to celebrate that fantastic work our teams have completed over the season.
Schedule:
- 9:30 AM – Doors open to teams and public – Zoom opens shortly thereafter
- 10:00 AM – Opening Remarks
- 10:10 AM – K-3 & 4-5 Division Film Previews (duration: ~1 hour)
- 11:10 AM – 6-8 Division Film Previews – 1st half (duration: ~1 hour)
- 12:10 PM – Short intermission/break (duration: ~20 minutes)
- 12:30 PM – 6-8 Division Film Previews – 2nd half (duration: ~1 hour)
- 1:30 PM – 9-12 Division Film Previews (duration: ~20 minutes)
- 1:50 PM – Awards Presentation (duration: ~10 minutes)
- 2:00 PM – Conclusion & team photos with the awards
