FACULTY CONCERT SERIES: Will Kinne, conducting the Stravinsky Octet for Winds
Widely considered to be his first Neoclassical work, Igor Stravinsky’s Octet for Winds is a masterpiece of craftsmanship. Classical forms and 20th-century style combine in a piece of simple elegance that is accessible to all audiences. Composers Daniel Sonenberg and Hans Spencer will present their own takes on this unique instrumentation with two world-premiere compositions to round out the program.
Sponsored by Christenia Alden Kinne.
